Race is still on!!!! Course Conditions...

The snow and the cold is not going to hold us back this year. The Frostbite 5 is still on. The forecast is calling for temperatures over freezing, so we only expect the course conditions to improve from here on. Below is the course conditions as of 3 pm on Saturday. We still plan to have Kohls Landscaping and Snow removal salt most of the intersections and turns and some of the straightaways a few hours prior to the race.

"Roads and sidewalks around high school - mostly clear, but with puddles that could freeze solid overnight
Sidewalk in front of one house that connects high school to S. Johanna - has not even been shoveled, packed down by kids walking to school, very bumpy
S. Johanna - mostly clear
Weller, East, Benzell, Tuxworth, S Main Access, Chase, Loganwood - completely snow covered and packed down by traffic
Those with bad shoe tread, weak ankles, and walkers will struggle
Clareridge, Cable, Maltbie/Slagle loop - mostly clear down the middle, snow and ice to the sides
Gracewood, Boyce - completely snow covered and deeper than first streets, i'm guessing less passes by plows here.
Bethel, S. Johanna - mostly clear, snow and ice to the sides
Intersections are messy and bumpy"

Snowy Frostbite!!!!!

The Frostbite 5 mile race is still on. We will do our best to clear the course. Kohls Landscaping and Snow Removal (937) 681-0850 has graciously agreed to help get the course fit for a race. In the event of too much snow on the course, the event will decided by 10 am on Sunday. Hopefully with a post on this very site and an update on the ORRRC.org homepage if the race is called off.
